Description
The Dairy Building, located to the north of Home Farmhouse, dates from the mid to late 19th century and is likely the work of architect George Devey. This single-storey structure features an octagonal chamber connected by a narrow entrance to a square section that has one window and an overhanging corner that creates a porch. The building is topped with a high-pitched hipped tiled roof and includes a cruciform gabled louvred ventilator at the top. The front gable belongs to the square part of the building. Constructed from red brick, it has iron casements with decorative lattice glazing. Inside the octagonal chamber, there is a tiled interior with a marble counter around the perimeter and an Art Nouveau ceramic fountain in the center. The Dairy Building, along with Home Farmhouse, a large barn, and Home Farm Cottage, forms a cohesive group.
