3/131 1-4 (inclusive) Chapel Cottages (formerly 26.4.68. listed as Nos 1-4 Chapel Cottages and Chapel Flat) GV II

House, now house row. C16 or early C17 and early C19. Timber- framed. Ground floor red brick in Flemish bond with occasional grey headers, first floor tile-hung. Plain tile roof. 2 storeys on brick plinth. Hipped roof, with gablet to left. Multiple brick ridge stack towards left end, stack to rear towards right end and one at right end. Irregular fenestration of four C19 three-light casements. Plain door to No. 4 beneath stack, panelled door to Nos. 2 and 3 (now one house) towards right end. 2-storey early C19 addition to right end, separately roofed at right-angles to road. Red brick with plain tile roof. 2 storeys. One glazing-bar sash in open box to first floor. Panelled first-floor door with plain hood on shaped brackets up 13 gradually curved steps. Ground floor passage between main range and addition. Interior: Partially exposed timbers and traces of inglenook. Only part inspected.
