Description

Hook House is a house, likely dating to the early 17th century or earlier, with alterations from the 18th and later centuries. The house is timber-framed. The ground floor is clad in red brick in a Flemish bond pattern, while the first floor is finished with alternating rows of pointed and fishscale tiles. It has a plain tile roof. The building comprises two parallel ranges; the range to the rear was probably built in the late 18th or early 19th century, and there is a short rear wing to the right. The house is two storeys high, with the left half of the building resting on a brick plinth. It has a hipped roof with gablets. A multiple brick ridge stack is located to the left of the centre. The windows are irregular in arrangement, featuring a three-light casement in the centre, a single-light casement beneath the stack, and a three-light casement to the right. A ribbed door is set within a brick porch beneath the stack, which has a tile-hung gable. The interior of the house has not been inspected.
