Description

Hamilton House is a late 18th or early 19th century farmhouse. It is constructed of chequered red and grey brick, with the first floor and rear elevation of a left wing tile hung. The roof is covered with plain tiles, and features a hipped design with hips returning along the right and left wings, as well as brick end stacks. A plat band is present on the three central bays of the front elevation, and there is a cogged brick eaves cornice to the front and side elevations, interrupted by pilasters. There is also a continuous plain banded brick cornice. The front has four plain brick pilasters flanking each window bay, forming three broad central bays and two narrow outer bays, but without pilasters at the corners. The front features a regular arrangement of recessed glazing bar sashes. The central doorway comprises four fielded panels and two top lights, topped by a flat bracketed hood. There are two adjacent rear wings. The interior has not been inspected.
