Description
Burnt Barn Farm House is a farmhouse dating from the mid-16th century, with a later 18th-century facade. The building is timber-framed and clad in red brick laid in Flemish bond, with the first floor of the left end being tile-hung. It has a plain tile roof and consists of four timber-framed bays that feature a jetty at the front and both ends. The house is two storeys high, sitting on a brick plinth, and has slightly coved eaves cornice and a hipped roof. There are red brick stacks at both the left and right ends of the building. The windows are arranged irregularly and consist of three glazing-bar sashes, with the ground floor windows having segmental heads. To the right of centre, there is a panelled door with two top lights, located between the centre and right end windows. A 19th-century lean-to has been added to the rear. Inside, the central ground-floor room features moulded end and cross-beams, hollow-chamfered joists, and a moulded four-centred arched stone fireplace. There is also a clean, moulded crown-post.
