Description

Tower Cottage is a house, dating from the 16th century or earlier, with a 19th-century addition to the front. The front elevation features a 19th-century timber-framed and weatherboarded first floor, with a ground floor constructed of red brick in a Flemish bond pattern, incorporating occasional grey headers. The roof is covered in plain tiles and is half-hipped. The fenestration is regular, with two two-light casement windows on each floor to the right of the front door. A boarded door is located to the left, with a shallow flat hood supported by small shaped brackets. A rear wing, dating from the 16th century or earlier, is timber-framed, weatherboarded, and has a plain-tile roof. It is set at a right angle to the street and is two storeys high, standing on a plinth. The rear roof is half-hipped and abuts the front range. A multiple brick ridge stack is located towards the junction between the two ranges. A 19th-century gabled eaves dormer is visible towards the rear, along with a small two-light casement window on the ground floor below. The interior has not been inspected.
