Description
Hearnden Farmhouse is a house that dates from the 18th century or earlier, with an early 19th-century addition on the right side. The left section is timber framed and weatherboarded, topped with a plain tile roof. The right section is constructed of red and grey brick in Flemish bond, featuring a slate roof. The building has two storeys set on a brick plinth. The right section projects forward, has higher eaves, and flat eaves soffits. The roof is half-hipped on the left and hipped on the right. There is a projecting brick stack on the left gable end and a ridge stack at the right end of the left section. The fenestration is irregular, with five windows: two 3-light and a central 2-light casement in the left section, and one 12-pane and one 16-pane recessed sash in the right section. The right-hand first-floor window and all gable-end windows of the right section feature Gothick panes, and there are blind boxes on the first-floor windows of the right section. A set of double doors with rectangular lights is located under a flat-hooded porch supported by chamfered posts to the left of the right section. There is a later 19th-century addition at the rear. The interior has not been inspected.
