Description
Jasmine Cottage is a house located in Moreton Morrell, dating from the 18th century with later alterations and a 19th-century addition. The building is constructed of brick laid in Flemish bond with vitrified headers, and it features some exposed timber-frame elements. The roof is steeply pitched, covered with renewed tiles, and has a brick end stack. The house has a two-unit plan with a later addition on the left side.
The exterior is single-storey plus attic and has a two-window range. It features modillioned brick cornices and a segmental-headed entrance that includes a 20th-century porch. The segmental-headed windows have 20th-century uPVC casements, and there is a 20th-century flat-roofed dormer with a similar casement. The taller addition on the left has a stack that adjoins the end stack of the earlier range, and its front wall is blind with a blocked segmental-headed entrance. The right return reveals an exposed roof truss, while the left return has a basement entrance due to the slope of the ground and segmental-headed windows, one of which has a later insert. The rear features a plastered wall and a brick lean-to outshut attached to the earlier part, with the later section having an inserted 20th-century window. The interior has not been inspected.
