Description
Pond Cottage is a house that dates from the early 17th century or earlier, with a facade added in the late 19th century. The core of the building is timber framed and was refaced in red brick laid in English bond during the late 19th century. The left end bay is in Flemish bond and projects slightly, possibly dating from the 20th century. The roof is covered with plain tiles and has two storeys built on a plinth, featuring a hipped roof. There is a projecting stack at the left end, a multiple brick ridge stack towards the centre, a brick stack on the rear slope of the roof towards the right end, and a small stack projecting at the right end. The windows are irregularly arranged, consisting of four late 19th century three-light casements. There is a blocked door with a segmental head towards the left end, and a late 20th century ribbed door in a late 20th century lean-to porch beneath the central stack. The interior has not been inspected.
