Description
Lower Cock Ash is a house that dates from the 17th century or earlier. It is timber framed, with the front elevation finished in red brick laid in Flemish bond. The roof is covered with plain tiles and features 1½ storeys set on a brick plinth with a flint base. The roof has a three-quarters hipped design to the left, topped with a gablet. There is a stack located at the left end of a rear lean-to. The wall-plate under the left hip is morticed for a diamond-mullion window. The building has two flat-roofed eaves dormers with two lights each, and the ground floor has an irregular arrangement of two recessed 3-light casement windows with segmental heads. A central ribbed door leads up three steps into a 20th-century brick porch, and there is a rear lean-to. The interior has not been inspected.
