Description
Holly Cottage is a house dating from the 17th century, with later alterations. The front elevation is rendered, while the left gable end features galleted stone at the ground floor and is rendered above. It has a plain tile roof and a lobby entry plan consisting of two bays, with the left bay possibly altered and a third bay added to the right. The building has two storeys and a hipped roof, with a lower ridge to the left of the stack. There is a painted brick ridge stack located to the left of centre. The cottage includes two flat-roofed through dormers and has irregular fenestration featuring two recessed two-light ground-floor metal casements. The entrance has a ribbed door with a flat hood positioned beneath the stack. At the rear, there is a lean-to that rises to one and a half storeys behind the left end bay. Inside, the cottage has exposed framing and an inglenook fireplace with a high bressumer. The central bay features a dropped tie-beam with queen-struts, likely supporting the rafters.
