Description
Little Hearnden is a house or farmhouse dating from the 15th or early 16th century. It is timber framed with plaster infilling and has a plain tile roof. The building is designed in the Wealden style, featuring two nearly equal-length hall bays and storeyed end bays, and it stands two storeys high. The structure is close-studded, with jettied right and left end bays that return on moulded dragon posts. There are arch braces supporting the flying wall-plate, and the roof is hipped. A rear stack is positioned towards the left end, while a multiple brick ridge stack is located in the right hall bay. The fenestration is irregular, consisting of three 3-light leaded casements—one in each end bay and one in the left hall bay. There are mortices indicating a former two-storey bay window to the right of the left door. The doors are ribbed, located at the left end of the hall and to the left of the right end bay. The interior has not been inspected.
