Description
Old Plumtrees is a house, originally built as cottages, dating from the late 18th century. The ground floor features red and grey brick in Flemish bond, while the first floor is tile-hung at the front and weatherboarded on the sides. It has a plain tile roof and is of double depth, standing two storeys tall. The eaves are boxed in wood, and the roof is hipped, returning to the right, with a double hip at the left end. There is a slender stack on the left and two rear stacks towards the right. The windows have an irregular arrangement, consisting of three 4-pane sashes. On the first floor of the right gable end, there is a small 24-pane two-light casement with Gothick panes. The entrance features a panelled door with two top lights, situated under a flat corniced hood between the first and second windows from the left, and there is a similar door without a hood towards the front of the right gable end.
