Description
This barn, located about 36 metres east-south-east of Stallance, dates from the early to mid-17th century. It is timber framed and weatherboarded, standing on a stone plinth, and features a hipped 20th-century plain tile roof. The structure consists of three timber-framed bays, with aisles at the front and rear, and is truncated on the right side. There are central double doors topped with a flat canopy, and a lean-to is positioned in front of the aisle to the left of the doors, with another lean-to at the left end. Inside, the barn has arch-braced posts with cut jowls, curved passing shores to the aisles, and a clasped purlin roof that includes diminishing principal rafters, intermediate collars, and almost straight windbraces. An addition on the right side is not included in this description.
