Description

This is a house, likely dating to the early 16th century or even earlier. It is timber-framed and the front elevation is covered with buff brick laid in a Flemish bond pattern. The roof is tiled. The house has one and a half storeys. A significant feature is the wall-plate, which is made of thick timber with a splayed edge and a scarf joint where the timbers join. There are two brick stacks: one on the front slope of the roof towards the left end, and another near the ridge towards the right end. A 20th-century dormer with three windows is hipped and located towards the right end of the roof. A four-pane casement window is positioned in an open box toward the left end. Ground-floor windows have segmental arches. A ribbed wooden door is located to the left of the centre of the front facade. A central doorway has been blocked up. The interior of the building has not been inspected.
