Description
This is an oasthouse located about 60 metres south-west of Elphicks Farmhouse, dating from the mid-to-late 19th century. It is constructed of red brick with a slate roof over the stowage area and plain tile roofs over the kilns. The gable ends of the stowage are weatherboarded on the upper floors. The building features a rectangular stowage area with three circular kilns on each long side, set back from the gable ends. The stowage is three storeys high, with lower eaves on the kilns, which have a cogged brick cornice. The stowage has a hipped roof, while the kilns have conical roofs, some of which include a louvred vent on one side and four with cowls. Each side of the stowage has one recessed two-light casement window on each floor, positioned between the kilns and the gable ends. There are loading doors at the centre of each upper floor on the gable ends and double doors at the ground floor. Additionally, there is a doorway to the ground floor of one kiln. The interior has not been inspected.
