Description
This is an oasthouse located about 6 metres north of Springfield Farmhouse, dating from the early 19th century. The ground floor is built of red brick in English garden wall bond, while the first floor is tile-hung, topped with a plain tile roof. The structure features a rectangular stowage with two circular kilns at the rear, which do not extend to the right gable end. The stowage is two storeys high and has cogged brick eaves cornices on the kilns. The stowage has a hipped roof, while the kilns are topped with conical roofs that have cowls. The building has irregular fenestration, including four small six-pane lights on the first floor of the stowage and one on the first floor of the right gable end. There are also two nine-pane lights with segmental heads towards each end of the ground floor. Access is provided by a boarded door with a segmental head towards the right end of the front and another at the right end of the rear elevation, along with a boarded door leading to the base of the kiln. The interior has not been inspected.
