Description
Springfield Farmhouse is an early 19th-century farmhouse situated on Goodhurst Road in Marden. The ground floor is constructed of red and grey brick in a Flemish bond pattern, while the first floor is tile-hung. It has a plain tile roof with flat eaves soffits incorporating paired Ionic modillions. The roof is hipped, with a hip returning to the right and two small hips to the left gable end. Brick gable-end stacks are located to the left, and a brick ridge stack is positioned towards the centre. The front facade is regular, featuring three 12-pane sash windows on each floor. The ground floor windows are two-light sashes in open boxes. A central panelled door is topped by two lights, flanked by fluted Doric pilasters and a flat corniced hood. Inside, a central staircase is fitted with stick balusters.
