Description

Home Farmhouse is a late 18th-century brick farmhouse situated on the south side of Whilton Main Street. The building is constructed of red brick laid in a Flemish garden wall bond, with an old tile roof and brick end stacks. It is arranged over two storeys and an attic, with a 5-window front. The central entrance features a 6-panel door with an overlight, a moulded wooden surround, and a gabled hood supported by brackets. Throughout the house, there are 12-pane sash windows with gauged brick heads. Architectural details include a stone plinth, a storey band, brick dentilled eaves, and stone-coped gables with kneelers. The gable to the left has a square finial facing the front, and there are three hipped roof dormers. The interior contains an open fireplace with a chamfered bressumer, one room incorporating fielded panelling, and a collar truss roof.
