Description
Stone House is a house dating from the late 17th century, constructed of ironstone ashlar with a slate roof featuring ornamental ridge tiles and brick stacks at the ends and ridge. The building has a three-unit lobby entry plan and is two storeys high with an attic, displaying a four-window range. To the left of the center, there is a blocked door above which is a two-light leaded wood mullion window with a transom and hood mould. The ground and first floors feature similar three-light windows, except for a small upright oval leaded window with a stone surround above the blocked door. Another similar window is located in the right gable. The house has a blue brick chamfered plinth, quoins, moulded stone eaves, and stone-coped gables with kneelers. The entrance at the rear is accessed through a 20th-century porch. Inside, the building has ogee-stop-chamfered spine beams and some stop-chamfered joists. There are two open fireplaces back to back, each with stop-chamfered bressumers.
