Description
The Old School House is a house dated 1735, constructed from coursed squared ironstone with a slate roof and brick end stacks. It features a two-unit plan, is two stories high with an attic, and has a three-window range. There is a central rectangular one-light window, with three-light casement windows on either side on the ground and first floors, and a two-light casement window in the center of the first floor, all with timber lintels. The left gable end displays a datestone inscribed "F/RE/1735" with a hood mould above it. The gable is stone coped with kneelers on the right side. The entrance is located at the rear, accessed through a 20th-century porch. Inside, the house features bar-stop-chamfered spine beams, an open fireplace with a chamfered cambered bressumer that has bar stops, and stud partitions.
