Description
Holly House is a house dating from 1669, renovated in 1974. It is constructed of coursed squared ironstone with an old plain-tile roof and stone end stacks. The building has a 2-unit plan and is arranged over two storeys and an attic, with a 4-window front. The main front features cross windows to both the ground and first floors, each with stone lintels and keyblocks. Other details include a plinth, a first-floor string course, moulded stone eaves, and coped stone gables with kneelers. A datestone inscribed “1669” is set into the gable above the right side, alongside similar windows to the ground and first floors. A two-storey, 2-window wing to the rear right has 3-light casement windows with timber lintels, and a tile-headed ridge stack. The main entrance is located at the rear. Inside, the house retains stop-chamfered spine beams and open fireplaces with stop-chamfered bressumers. The roof structure features collar-truss rafters.
