Description
Martins Farmhouse is a 17th-century farmhouse located on Whilton Main Street. It is constructed of rendered ironstone with a pantile roof that has replaced the original thatch. The building features brick stacks at both ends and along the ridge. It has a two-unit plan and is two stories high with a three-window range. A part-glazed four-panel door is positioned to the right of the center, and there are 20th-century metal casements with two and three lights on both the ground and first floors. The right gable is stone-coped and has kneelers. To the left, there is a 19th-century two-story brick addition that includes a two-light segmental-arched window on the ground floor. Inside, the farmhouse has chamfered spine beams and an open fireplace with a chamfered bressumer. The building is included for its group value.
