Description
This is an oasthouse located about 17 metres east of Fir Tree Farmhouse, dating from the mid-19th century. The structure features two stone kilns and one brick kiln, with a stowage area that has a stone rear wall and gable ends, while the front is weatherboarded. The kilns have plain tile roofs, and the stowage has a slate roof. At the south end of the rectangular stowage, there are two circular stone kilns, and a circular brick kiln is set against the rear wall of the stowage. The kilns are designed with dentilled eaves and conical roofs topped with cowls. The stowage roof is hipped to the north. The stowage has two 2-light casement windows and a central boarded door on the first floor, along with a boarded first-floor door on the south gable end. The ground floor of the stowage is open, supported by wooden piers on padstones, and there is a boarded door at the left end. The oasthouse forms the southeast end of an open courtyard.
