Description

Wentways is a house, dating from the 17th century or earlier, with later alterations. The front elevation and left gable end are built of red brick in English bond, while part of the rear elevation is tile-hung. The roof is covered in plain tiles and is half-hipped to the left and hipped to the right. The house has a rear stack to the left, a ridge stack to the centre, and a stack towards the right end. The windows on the front elevation are arranged irregularly, consisting of three casements – two 2-light and one 3-light. A large, 20th-century, two-storey rectangular porch wing of brick and timber construction, with a hipped roof, recessed balcony, and recessed door, has been added to the right of centre, between the stacks. The interior of the house has not been inspected. The building was formerly known as Norton Pound.
