Description

The garage at Fir Tree Farmhouse is a building that dates from the early to mid 19th century and was originally a farm building. It is timber-framed and covered in weatherboarding, resting on a brick base, with a hipped tiled roof. The south side features two original 8-pane pivoting sash windows and there are double doors on the east side. The structure includes diagonal braces in the wall frame and roof, along with a collar beam and clasped purlins. An attached single-storey building to the north has lost its special interest due to storm damage. This garage is included for its group value with the barn and outbuilding associated with Fir Tree Farmhouse.
