CROOK AND WILLINGTON HOWDEN LE WEAR NZ 13 SE 32/36 Outbuildings north of Fir Tree Grange

GV II

Servants' wing, now cottage, garage and storage rooms. Early C19 possibly incorporating earlier fabric. Sandstone rubble with ashlar dressings; roof pantiled with stone gable copings. 2 storeys, 6 bays. Tall elliptical-headed boarded vehicle doors in third bay; flat stone lintel over renewed door in fourth bay. Similar lintels and projecting stone sills to windows, most renewed sashes with glazing bars; 3 high buttresses with coped setbacks separate 4 right bays. Low-pitched roof has corniced stone chimneys at ends and between second and third bays. Included for group value.
