Description
The war memorial, along with its surrounding piers and chain, was built around 1919 and is signed by S. Webby from Liverpool. It is made of white granite and features an iron chain. The memorial stands on a plinth and is accessed by two steps. It has a tall, tapered rectangular shape with two offsets, a cornice, and diagonally-set square coping. The arms of Crook are depicted in a wreath on the main faces, while the shorter sides have pilasters adorned with garlands. The names of those who died in the wars of 1914-1918, 1939-1945, and the Korean War of 1950-1953 are inscribed in panels and on the plinth. The memorial is bordered by a diagonally-set low flat curb that supports tapered square posts with pyramidal tops, to which a link chain, featuring spikes through the links, is attached.
