Description
The outbuildings to the north-west of Beechburn Grange are a storage building and carriage shed with a loft, dating from the 19th century. They are constructed of white-painted rubble, with pantiled roofs featuring two rows of stone slates at the eaves and ridge ventilators. The buildings are arranged in an L-plan layout.
The storage building on the left has a boarded door with an overlight beneath a wooden lintel. To the right, a long flight of stone steps leads to a boarded loft door, with an open space beneath the landing stone. The carriage shed, which projects to the right, features boarded double doors and a half-glazed Dutch stable door, both under painted lintels. The left return of the shed includes a small two-light ground-floor window and side steps leading to a first-floor loft door, which also connects to the loft door in the left building. A lozenge-shaped brick ventilation panel is located beside the loft door, and there is a nine-pane fixed light positioned below the eaves on the right.
The right extension has a pent roof, while both buildings have hipped roofs with louvred ventilators, swept coping, and ball finials. These outbuildings are included for their group value.
