Description
This building is an outbuilding located to the southeast of The Cottage and northwest of The Beeches. It was originally constructed in the early 18th century as a house with an integral barn, but it has since been divided between the two properties. The structure is set at right angles to The Cottage and is made of sandstone rubble, partly rendered, with a slate roof. It stands two stories tall and has five bays.
The outbuilding features plain surrounds to a plank door and to sash windows with glazing bars in the former barn section, which has been converted into a house and is now used as a store. There is also an arched cart entrance with a reeded ashlar surround. The eastern part, which was originally the house, has a blocked door with an inscribed lintel above a short flight of steps, a stone mullioned window with a chamfered edge (though the mullion has been removed) on the right, and other windows that are blocked or partially blocked. The building is included in the listing partly for its group value with the nearby properties.
