Description

This is a boundary stone located outside number 431 on London Road in Carlisle. It dates from the early 19th century and is made of red sandstone. The stone is squared with a rounded top and is set at an angle. It is inscribed with the letter "H" on the north face, representing Harraby, and the letter "C" on the south face, representing Carleton. This boundary stone is believed to be the only one of its kind still existing in the city.
