Description
The cart shed, stables, loft, and byre located east of High Woodfield Farmhouse date from the late 18th century. They are constructed from sandstone rubble with quoins and feature a pantiled roof. The building is arranged in an L-plan and is one storey high, comprising a 2- and 3-bay L-shaped cart shed and stables, along with a 2-storey, 3-bay byre and loft.
On the left side, there are boarded vehicle doors that project slightly above the eaves beneath a raking roof. To the right, there are boarded Dutch doors and additional doors in the right inner return, along with four-light stable windows, all supported by thin wood lintels. The adjoining byre and loft are taller and have a central boarded door with a small square window to the left, as well as a partly-glazed opening above the door. The right return gable features side steps leading to a boarded loft door. Inside, the loft is supported by pegged trusses.
