Description

Anglesey Cottage and Chulmleigh Cottage is a house row built in 1758, with later alterations in the 19th century. The ground floor is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond, while the first floor features tile-hanging on the left and red mathematical tiles on the right. The right gable end has galleted stone on the ground floor and is tile-hung above. The building has a plain tile roof and stands two storeys with attics on a galleted stone plinth. It features a moulded wood eaves cornice with miniature dentils at the base and a half-hipped roof. There is a projecting red brick stack at the left end, a brick ridge stack to the left of centre above the third window from the left, and a rear stack to the right. The building has four irregularly spaced gabled dormers, two on either side of the ridge stack. The fenestration consists of six glazing bar sashes with horns. The door to Anglesey Cottage has vertical panels and a leaded rectangular top light beneath the stack, while the door to Chulmleigh Cottage has a panelled design with a rectangular top light beneath the second window from the right. Both doors are accessed by three steps and have different flat bracketed corniced hoods. The ridge stack is dated 1758. The interiors have not been inspected.
