Description
Cherry Tree Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the mid-18th century, with an earlier core, and has been altered in the late 19th and late 20th centuries. It is constructed of red brick with occasional grey headers in Flemish bond, and features a timber-framed core. The left end is made of galletted stone, and it has a plain tile roof. The building has two storeys and attics set on a stone plinth, with a moulded brick string course and boxed wood eaves. The roof is half-hipped on the left side, and there is a projecting stack at the right end. The farmhouse has two hipped dormers and a regular arrangement of three slightly recessed glazing-bar sashes with horns. The ground floor windows are adorned with rubbed brick voussoirs. The central entrance features a panelled door with two vertical glazed lights, topped by a flat bracketed corniced hood, and is accessed by two steps. Inside, there are exposed timbers from the 18th century, along with re-used earlier timbers, which were partially rebuilt in the late 20th century after sustaining damage.
