Description
Arfon Cottage, along with No. 22, is a pair of single-storey and attic estate cottages built in the Picturesque style. They are constructed from very roughly coursed rubblestone, featuring Anglesey limestone ashlar surrounds for the doors and windows, topped with a slate roof. The cottages have a symmetrical layout with three bays, where the central bay slightly projects as a gable. This gable is supported by stepped corner buttresses and features two chamfered Tudor-arched doorways with 20th-century ribbed doors as the main entrances.
On either side of the gable, there are gabled eaves dormers with single-light leaded latticed windows, and the gable itself has a two-light leaded latticed window at the apex. Below the dormers, there are canted bays with hipped roofs and four-light leaded latticed windows. The cottages also have prominent integral end stacks with paired octagonal shafts that have moulded capping. There are lower and set-back 20th-century additions attached to the gable ends, designed in a style similar to the original building. The interior was not inspected during the survey.
