Description

This is an 18th-century building comprising Beach Cottage and Watch Cottage, situated on Beach Street. The main part of Beach Cottage is two storeys with basements and attics, rendered in stucco, and has a tiled roof. It features three sash windows with vertical dividers on the first floor, and three sash windows with restored glazing bars on the ground floor. A modern, pedimented doorcase is on the left side. Watch Cottage has a distinctive Dutch curved gable and one dormer window, topped with an old tiled roof. It has a single window on the first floor and three on the ground floor, with a simple doorcase. Beach Cottage (number 179) is part of a group of buildings including numbers 167 to 175 (odd).
