Description
8 The Beach is a building likely dating from the early 19th century, with later alterations. It stands two storeys plus an attic, featuring a cement-rendered exterior, a cornice, and a parapet. The roof is hipped and covered with tiles, and there is a tall chimneystack on the right side. A dormer projects forward from the center of the roof and includes a cornice and a three-light bay window. The main elevation has bay windows on either side that extend through both storeys, with three windows in total, all of which are sashes without glazing bars. The building has a plinth and a central projecting porch adorned with a moulded cornice. The porch windows have close-set glazing bars and colored glazing. A wrought-iron lamp is mounted on a bracket above the porch. This building is included for its group value with Nos 2 to 10 (consecutive) and No 13, which together with Nos 11 and 12, form a group of local interest.
