Description

Number 7, The Beach, including the archway to its right, is a late 18th and early 19th century building. It is three storeys high and has a rendered and colourwashed exterior. The building has a cornice and parapet, with a slate roof. The parapet extends up the gable ends to join the chimney stacks on each side. Plain pilasters are positioned on the front facade. Later bay windows extend through all three storeys on the left and right sides of the building. Cornices delineate the storeys within these bays. The windows are sashes, each with three lights, and without glazing bars. A plinth runs along the base. A modern glazed porch covers the entrance in the centre of the ground floor. A two-storey extension is attached to the right, connecting with numbers 5 and 6. An elliptical archway on the ground floor leads to the rear, and a first-floor sash window without glazing bars serves the archway’s upper level. Numbers 2 to 10 (inclusive) and number 13 form a group of local interest, alongside numbers 11 and 12.
