Description
Adelaide House is a building from the early 19th century located on the east side of The Beach. It stands two storeys tall and is rendered and white-washed. The building features a heavily moulded cornice with a parapet that extends up the gable ends to meet small chimney stacks. The roof is slate. Flanking the front are Ionic pilasters, and there are three windows with sashes set in plain reveals, featuring thin glazing bars. The central doorway is square-headed, surrounded by a plain architrave and topped with a small hood supported by volutes. The door has four panels and is accessed by two steps, with a rectangular fanlight above. Adelaide House is part of a group that includes Nos 2 to 10 and Nos 11 and 12, all of which are of local interest.
