Description
The Royal Oak is a large, three-storey building from the early to mid-19th century located on Copse Road. It features roughcast and rendered fronts with incised masonry on the right side. The roof is not visible. The building has four windows and one window space, with stepped voussoir lintels to the right. The windows are sashes with glazing bars. There are paired round-headed doors to the right, which also have stepped voussoirs and fanlights. The bar frontage is located at No 35, and there are area railings leading to the basements on the downhill left side. The Royal Oak, along with Nos 5, 35 to 39 (odd), Nos 2 to 34 (even), and number 13 Seavdale Road, forms a group of buildings of local interest, including Nos 3 and 7.
