Description
This is a range of two properties, number 5 and number 6, forming part of a terrace along The Beach. They date from the early to mid-19th century and are situated next to a two-storey extension belonging to the Albion Hotel. The properties are two storeys in height with rendered and colourwashed facades and slate roofs that are continuous with the extension to number 7. A large central chimney stack is present, along with two smaller stacks located at each end of the building. Plain pilasters divide the front elevation. A plinth runs along the base. There are six windows in total, three to each property, with sash windows featuring thin glazing bars. Upper floor wooden shutters are present on number 6. A central round-headed doorway with a six-panel door and a semi-circular fanlight, incorporating Y-tracery, is found on number 6. The ground floor of number 5 is currently obscured by modern office and shop extensions. Numbers 2 to 10 (consecutively) and number 13, along with numbers 11 and 12, form a group of local architectural interest.
