Description

This is a cottage dating to the 16th century, with significant alterations in the 18th century and a 20th-century addition to the rear. The original timber-frame structure is visible in the east gable and a west-end outshot, with painted brick infill. The majority of the walls are now painted brickwork in an English bond. The thatched roof is half-hipped at the east end and fully hipped at the west, with a lower eaves line, and includes one eyebrow dormer that is flat at the rear. The cottage has one storey and an attic, with an irregular arrangement of casement windows. The front door, which was originally located in the centre, has been filled with brickwork, access now being via a plain entrance in the 20th-century extension.
