Description
Forge Cottage is a cottage dating from around 1600, featuring a timber frame with late 19th-century extensions and 20th-century minor additions and restoration. The cottage has an exposed frame with plaster in the upper panels and painted brick infill, while other walls are made of painted brickwork. The upper part of the east end extension is tile-hung. It has a thatched roof that is half-hipped at the east and hipped at the west, with low eaves and eye-brow dormers. The extension has a half-hipped tile roof, and there is a slate roof on the rear outshot. The north front has one storey and an attic, with two above four windows, all of which are casements. The doorways are plain and feature 20th-century gabled hoods.
