Description
Wellow Mead is a 17th century cottage that has undergone significant changes over the years. Originally a small structure, it features a large addition along the road from the 19th century, with further alterations made in the 20th century. The building is constructed with a timber frame and wattle and daub infill, as well as rendered brick with mock timber framing, topped with a thatched roof. The original part of the cottage is one and a half storeys tall and has three bays, while the newer section across the road is two storeys and has four bays, which has become the main house. The older section includes one casement window on each side and an eyebrow dormer in the center bay on one side. The roof is hipped at the far end, with a chimney stack located between the two far bays. The later part features 20th century windows and a half-hipped, taller roof.
