Description

This is a sixteenth-century timber-frame cottage with a substantial rear extension built in the twentieth century. The exposed timber frame has painted brick infill, with other walls rendered and a small projecting section clad in vertical boarding. The roof is thatched, with a half-hipped east end, a hipped west end brought to a lower eaves level, and an eyebrow dormer. A separate roof covers the projecting section. The cottage is one storey and attic, with an irregular arrangement of casement windows. A thatched canopy on posts was originally an entrance feature, but is now fitted; the current entrance is at the rear of the property, which now presents as a plain two-storeyed house.
