Description

This is a cottage dating back to the 16th century, with alterations made in the 17th and 18th centuries and a 20th-century extension. The construction is timber frame with painted brick infill, and it has a thatched roof. The cottage is long, running north to south, with a 20th-century extension on the south end and a core 16th-century structure of two bays, plus a one-bay cross wing at the south end adjoining the extension. The original 16th-century block is one and a half storeys high, while the 20th-century block is single-storey. A gabled dormer window is cut into the thatch on the west side, and there are chimneys on the north end and at the junction of the main block and cross wing. The west elevation features two 3-light windows with cambered heads and leaded lights to the left. There is a 3-light casement window with leaded lights in the cross wing, and a 2-light casement in the gable. A boarded door is located at the junction of the main block and cross wing.
