Description

Leckhampstead House is an early 19th-century house located in Leckhampstead village. It is constructed of brick with a hipped slate roof. The house has a rectangular plan with a lower extension to the west. It is two storeys high with an attic; the window openings have rubbed brick arches. There are two gabled dormers on the east side, with flanking chimneys to the north and south. The east elevation features a central, glazing-bar sash window flanked by tripartite sashes. The ground-floor sashes have segmental arches. A central six-panelled door has an arched fanlight of oval and curved glazing, set within an architrave surround and a wide doorcase consisting of outer engaged fluted Greek Doric columns and inner pilasters that support a frieze and cornice.
