Description
Janaway Cottage is a cottage dating from the 17th century, with a 19th-century extension and 20th-century alterations. The south side is rendered, while the east and north sides are constructed of brick with some timber framing. It features a half-hipped thatched roof. The building has a long plan running east to west, with 19th-century extensions on both the east and west sides. It is one and a half storeys tall, with a two-storey extension to the west. There are chimneys located at the east end, in the center of the ridge of the 17th-century block, and on the ridge of the west block. The north elevation includes two 2-light 20th-century casement windows to the left, a 2-light casement with a cambered head in the center, and a 20th-century porch to the right. There are also 2-light casements in the dormers and one 2-light casement in the extension to the right.
