Description
Willow Cottage is an early 18th-century cottage located in Amport. It is constructed of flint and brick, topped with a thatched roof. The front of the cottage features two planes and consists of one storey with an attic, containing one window on each plane. The eaves are raised above the upper windows and lowered to create an open porch at the angle. The east side of the wall is made of painted brickwork, while the wider west side is built of flint, with brick quoins and a surround for the opening. The west end wall showcases exposed timber framing with rendered infill, and part of the rear wall displays heavier framing that suggests an earlier construction date. The windows are casements with old leaded lights in the upper sections. There is a 20th-century oak door set in a plain frame. The front of the cottage features an inset stone panel inscribed with "RS 1711."
