Description

This milestone, located 800 meters west of the junction with the road to Houghton, dates from the late 18th century. It is made of painted stone and has a square section with chamfered edges, set diagonally. One side of the stone displays the inscription '69 Miles to LONDON', while the opposite side reads '2 miles to STOCKBRIDGE'.
